Inclusive Forward
The role of an Alder is to represent the constituents at the Common Council, but it is also to connect residents to each other and help build bridges between communities. These bridges can and should be used to lift each other up and inspire one another, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, in the pursuit of equity and inclusion. I believe that by working together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable community for all.
I will stay engaged and reach out to my constituents through:
· Neighborhood association blog posts
· Hearing session
· Office hours
· Meeting hybrid
· Key city issues mailing card
I aim to be a valuable resource for the Common Council when it comes to addressing the needs and concerns of Madison's diverse and growing population. I firmly believe that political representation is a powerful tool for empowering communities and driving equity and racial justice, which are fundamental principles of American democracy. This nonpartisan position provides me with the platform to influence the decisions that are made for the city and its population and to work towards creating a more inclusive, equitable and just community for all. I am committed to use this position to address the issues that are important to the community, and to be a voice for the underrepresented and marginalized groups.
As someone said, "Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance."
With your support I am ready to dance. #InclusiveForward
